Announcement for all my Students for Fall 2010 Semester
This is announcement for all students at Yalova University and İstanbul Ticaret University for Fall 2010 Semester.
Dear my students,
Please note that we will be using this semester my personal elearning site at elearning.drcetiner.com. This is mainly due to lack of elearning services at both universities, currently. You need to register in the website first and then you will receive activation email. By clicking on the activation link, you will become a member permanently in the website. For individual enrollment in courses, you need enrollment keys given separately either by me or assistants. Sorry we don’t include the enrollment keys for security reasons.
SQL Language Part of Courses
An interactive SQL site was designed for your convenience to be able use the SQL language statements that you will be learning in three courses namely: Introduction to Computer and Information Systems, Introduction to Computer Science, and Data Mining.
The SQL site to use is sql.drcetiner.com.
Please feel free to use it in other courses such as Database Design, Data Modeling and others.
You need SQL Database settings in Figure 1 in order to be able to use Interactive SQL Site and the settings should be as follows:-

Therefore, you should use SQL statements compatible with MySql. I hope that the site will be useful for anyone who wants to develop his/her SQL skills in MySQL.
Website Design in Courses
By also acknowledging your needs for designing your personal websites, two separate subdomains were prepared for the students. The students at Yalova University should use the ftp address at yalova.drcetiner.com.
The students at İstanbul Ticaret University should use the link ftp.drcetiner.com.
All students should use the usernames and passwords given by me or my assistants.
Please use the relevant forums at elearning site any time on 7/24 basis.

Dear students
I will keep again my e-learning courses for Semester Spring 2010 at http://e-learning.ius.edu.ba address. Please select the courses from Spring 2010. The courses I teach for Semester 2010 include Introduction to Management and Project Course (Civic Engagement Projects).
The enrollment keys were delivered in the classroom. If you did not get it please ask a friend or me directly.
Please note that the technical administration of the e-learning site is done by the university (IUS). For all technical problems and difficulties with access, contact IT Department of IUS in writing.

Elearning Courses at IIUM
IIUM Elearning Courses
The unofficial IIUM Elearning site (maintained personally) has been used actively since last year. The number of students at the site approaches to 500 which nearly makes 1 out 5 in Kulliyyah of Engineering at IIUM. Since the site has no connection to the online IIUM students‘ Database at IIUM, the student records have to be initiated by students and confirmed and later maintained by us. Despite the difficulties and the involvement needed to survive on internet I would suggest the elearning staff to all my colleagues who would like to set an elearning site for their courses. Just go to Open Source ELearning System, Moodle’s site from here and download the latest software. It is very easy to maintain. You need PHP and MySQL at your webserver. Unfortunately, I could not setup the elearning system inside my personal site at IIUM due to lack of space and some unsupported libraries and functions.
